Automation accelerates existing logic. When the data route is undefined, it accelerates chaos — usually with impressive discipline.

01

Map the event

Define what starts the workflow: a message, form, payment, new file or status change. If three people name different starting points, there is nothing stable to code yet.

02

Choose the source of truth

One object should not have five equal versions in chat, a sheet, a CRM and a manager’s memory. Decide where the current state lives; let other systems read or update it by rule.

03

Assign step ownership

Every transition needs an owner: a person or a system. “Then it somehow gets to sales” almost guarantees a manual bridge that disappears from every estimate.

04

Make failure visible

An invisible error is worse than a stop. The system should show where data failed, what can be retried and who needs to intervene. Otherwise automation simply hides the problem faster.
